Will there be an Ubuntu tablet?

There is one rumor making the rounds on the blogosphere about Ubuntu releasing a tablet. The Unity interface, which most Ubuntu fans have started hating, was supposedly a test run of the interface which is going to be used on Ubuntu tablets. It is also said that this was just the Alpha version of the Ubuntu that is being made for tablets.

Toshiba to showcase a cheap 7-inch tablet and world’s thinnest 10.1-inch tablet at CES next week

Toshiba’s tablets never did well, at least not as well as the company expected them to do. But nevertheless, the company has not lost hopes. Toshiba is working hard to make the company’s presence felt in the tablet market. Next week’s Consumer Electronics Show (CES) is a great platform to showcase of your electronics products, and Toshiba seems to be ready to try its luck at the event. Toshiba is working on announcing two new tablets at the event next week.

Is this Samsung Galaxy Tab ad something like the Apple iPad ad?

Apple has always complained that Samsung has copied its products, the iPhone and the iPad, and designed its own Galaxy S series of phones and the Galaxy Tab. The Acer Iconia Tab has been one of the best Android tablets the world has seen, and it is going to become much more better next year. There is a leaked news of the next tablet that Acer is working on, the Acer Iconia Tab A700. Like a lot of other next gen Android tablets that are expected to be sighted at the CES 2012, this is one will be unveiled officially by the company at CES. But we have some info already.

Nokia 1 Windows 8 tablet concept design

We know that Nokia is working on a Windows tablet after its success with the Windows Phone 7 device, the Nokia Lumia series, specifically, the Lumia 800. So, a designer from Deviant Art YrOnimuS has designed a design for a Nokia Windows 8 tablet, called the Nokia 1 Windows 8 tablet. The design is inspired by the Lumia 800, and extends the same design to a bigger screen. But still, the tablet looks desirable. What do you think? Google is building its own Android tablet

If you are already confused which tablet to buy, here is another one coming in the next six months. Google is all ready to take on the tablet industry all by itself. We are not talking about another version of Android or something, but a whole new Android tablet, Google-branded Android tablet. The search giant’s Executive Chairman Eric Schmidt said this in a statement to an Italian newspaper.

Kindle Fire hacked to run a pre-alpha version of Ice Cream Sandwich

If you own a Kindle Fire and actually bought it hoping that one day you will able to run a custom ROM of a decent version of Android, you are at luck now. XDA developers have come up with one custom ROM based on a “pre-alpha” version of Ice Cream Sandwich, or Android 4.0, which is the latest version of the Android operating system available.

Sony tablets to get Ice Cream Sandwich pretty soon

Sony was a bit late to enter the tablet market, and the company’s tablets don’t offer really a different or a better deal compared to its competitors. Also, the tablets are priced higher than its competitor, just like the VAIO laptops. So obviously, very less people buy the Sony tablets. But if these few people are tech savvy, they would not be willing to buy a Sony Tablet S or Tablet P if these tablets are not getting the Android 4.0, or Ice Cream Sandwich, update.
