Wednesday is the judgement day for HTC Android phone sales in the US

The patent ware between Apple and HTC is as well known as Apple vs. Samsung. The coming Wednesday, however, is a very interesting day, which can go into history books. Apple had sued HTC over some of its Android phones saying that the Taiwanese company has infringed some of Apple’s patents. In the past, the ITC has rules in favor of HTC saying that HTC has not infringed the patents held by the former subsidiary company FlashPoint Technology relating to the camera technology.

HTC announced the first batch of smartphones to receive Ice Cream Sandwich update

Ever since Google announced the new version of its Android OS, Android 4.0 or the Ice Cream Sandwich, all Android users have been on their toes to get the update on their phones. This lies entirely with the hands of the OEMs as they have to release the update which are customized to the models. So all the big players in the Android ecosystem have been announcing their plans, except for one player, HTC. This is said to be because of the custom overlay it has on Android, Sense UI. HTC customizes the Sense UI on every phone and also for every version of Android. Hence, it is said that HTC is having problems or delays in getting its Sense UI work on the new ICS.

AT&T to Launch its First LTE Smartphones on 6th November

Remember HTC Thunderbolt, Verizon’s first LTE smartphone, launched in March? If ‘Yes’, you are close to what I am hinting at. On 31st October, AT&T has announced the launch date of its first 4G LTE smartphones in the guise of HTC Vivid and Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket. These smartphones will be able to utilize both LTE and HSPA+ 4G speeds, for a consistently fast connection.

HTC officially announces partnership with Dropbox, users get 5GB free storage

It is a well known fact that HTC had been in talks with cloud storage giant Dropbox for quite some time to crack a partnership with the company so that HTC can offer more cloud storage to its customers. Today, HTC has finally let the officially words out and it is a sweet news. The partnership has been confirmed, and who ever buys a new HTC Android smartphone from now on will get the Dropbox app pre-installed.
