Do you fly a lot (I mean in air planes, of course)? If you do, you will be familiar with the TV screens on the back of the seat in front of you. You will also be know how crappy those look. You can spend even a 3 hour flight happily watching movies on those screens. But now, the times are going to change.

Panasonic is working on a new Android-based eX3 in-flight entertainment system. The entertainment system will be available on the back of seats in a plane, and also as a hand help portable device. If you observe the image below properly, the hand held device looks more like a Sony PlayStation Portable (PSP), doesn’t it?

The devices have HD, and capacity 3D screens as well. So when it comes to portable entertainment, this may become the name you will take in the future. The device come with internet features. So if want to be connected to the world even when you are flying in the sky, this would be possible through the integrated Wi-Fi or GSM modules in the device. You can now be connected to social networking sites such as Facebook, Twitter, and others. You will be able to watch news, read news, watch TV, and much more.

Business people on the flight will be able to make use of the free time and make video conference calls using the built in camera and mic. Panasonic will have a Panasonic App Store, which means there are going to be apps designed exclusively for these devices. These devices are still in the testing mode. So it will be sometime they will start hitting the stores. Until then, and until we get some official words about the launch date and price, stay tuned here for other other news.
