Windows Phone 7.5 UI Demo

If you have been thinking of buying a Widows Phone 7.5 device but are not sure of how the user experience will be, Microsoft has given a chance for you to experience the UI on your current iPhone or Android phone. This will need to have an internet connection on your phone. Once you have that ready, point the browser on your phone to http://aka.ms/wpdemo. This will take to a demo page made out of HTML5. Microsoft has the Metro UI found of the Mango OS, and you will be able to take you guided tour from there.

If you are thinking you will be able to use your iPhone or Android phone from this HTML5 page, you are wrong. This is just a demo tour, something like an interactive PowerPoint presentation. You will be able to select a tile from the home screen, and in the next few screens, you will shown a few features of that particular app and the page will make you swipe or touch certain buttons which will make something happen.

For example, if you select the Messaging app on the homescreen, you will shown the “threads” and the “online” tabs present in the Messaging app. You will be asked to swipe to switch between these two tabs. Then you will be taken into an SMS thread which already has a few messages. That’s the end of the tour for the Messaging app. You can go back to the homescreen and select another app for a similar tour.

If you like this, there is an option to share it on Facebook so that your friends can also try it out.
