AT&T to Launch its First LTE Smartphones on 6th November
Remember HTC Thunderbolt, Verizon’s first LTE smartphone, launched in March? If ‘Yes’, you are close to what I am hinting at. On 31st October, AT&T has announced the launch date of its first 4G LTE smartphones in the guise of HTC Vivid and Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket. These smartphones will be able to utilize both LTE and HSPA+ 4G speeds, for a consistently fast connection.
From 6th November, AT&T customers will be moving in a super speed lane. On this day, AT&T 4G LTE service will be launched in Boston, Washington D.C., Baltimore, and Athens. This embarks the expansion of AT&T’s 4G LTE network to 9 markets, which include Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas-Fort Worth, Houston and San Antonio, which were launched in September.
Over the years, Samsung and HTC have evolved to be the top contenders in the smartphone arena. It will be interesting to see who leads the race on the LTE network.
