Symbian S60V5 app review: WordMobi – Part 1
You can see the previous post by me for an example of what you will get if you use this app on your phone. Its pretty impressive. I had never known there is something like this for the Symbian platform. You can actually blog from your phone no matter what you are doing and where you are. It gives you all the features on the full website on your phone, but only with a lot of confusion. But that is only till you get used to it. I’m quiet familiar with it now after just one post.
The first time I tried the app, I was not even able to set it up with the website login details. After trying twice, I was finally set to work. Then, I managed to type in a very long post with an image inserted. But after everything, I was lost searching the option to exit out of the text entry area. So lost the whole post there. I was somehow able to publish the post the second time.
The very first thing you need to do is, install python on your phone. The app needs python installed on the phone to work. So before you download Wordmobi, you have to download and install python on your phone. You can download python from here. Download Wordmobi from here. Once you run the app, it will ask you for which access point to use out of the available access points. So the list will be displayed to you, and it will be displayed every time you run the app. Next, you have to set up the login details of your blog. You have to give in the URL, the username and the password, your email address and your real name.
You exit the settings area and you land up in the posts tabs. Here, you have to update the list of posts on your blog each time you run the app, manually. This is also a let down. The list should have to be in the memory and there could have been an automatic update mechanism included so that the app would update the list itself once you the app is up.
