iPod NanoI never thought iPod Nano can be this much fun. I only knew its good for music and a bit of show off. But a guy named James Whelton has done something interesting. He has hacked the iPod Nano OS. He says that he was able to bypass the device’s cache comparison and install a Springboard hack on the device. And the outcome? Watch the video below.

James Whelton writes on his blog:

The springboard hack is just the removal of a app and creation of a blank space. Not that amazing, but what’s important is the bypass of Nano’s cache comparison, which compares any modded SB file and reverts it if it doesn’t like it, this opens up the possibility of hacking and modding, while not adding bootloaders or any of that fun stuff. The device’s plists of reference to support of Movies, TV Shows, Apps, Games, vCards, Calendar events and so on, with a few other cool things like a passcode lock.

You can find more info on this on his blog. So what do you think? Is this worth? Will you be excited to see this on your iPod Nano?
