With the rumoured announcement date less than two weeks away, new iPad 3 rumours continue to flow. The most interesting one to break this week is the possible launch date of the iPad 3 - March 16th. Why that date?
Well, you might have heard back in January that Apple are due to open a brand new Apple Store in one of London’s most famous buildings - Harrods. If you haven’t been, it’s well known in the UK as the most opulent store in the country, clad in thousands of lights and stocking unique products in hundreds of individual shops from all over the world.
Apple are due to open their Harrods Apple Store in the middle of March. Given their tradition of announcing products on a Wednesday then releasing them on a Friday a few weeks later, that would suggest a launch date of March 16th - just when the Harrods Apple Store is due to open.
Harrods would make a mighty fine place to announce something of the iPad 3′s magnitude - 300,000 visitors travel to Harrods on its busiest days, and word of an Apple launch would surely cause the landmark department store to see at least that many.
Is this a sure thing? Certainly not - but wouldn’t it be cool?
