Creative Zen Style M300

If you liked the Apple iPod Shuffle or the iPod Nano very much but it somehow dint make you happy, here is another chance to make yourself happy with another similar product. I’m talking about Creative’s new MP3 player, the Zen Style M300.

The Zen Style M300 is inspired by the looks and features of iPod Nano, no doubt about it. It also has some of the same features. But unlike iPod Nano, it doesn’t have a touchscreen. After reading and listening to the cries of iPod Nano users (how difficult it to control the device with such a small touchscreen), Creative took a brave step by not making this a tiny touchscreen device. Instead, the company has provided control buttons along the edges of the device. This looks like something new.

Also, the device has some great features like Bluetooth. This means you dont need a chord to listen to your music. You can pair the Style to your favorite Bluetooth earphone or headphone and listen to your favorite music wirelessly. But a let down here is that there is no file syncing support wirelessly. This would have been a welcome addition, but you have use a cord to sync your music to the device.

Another feature which most of you like is that there is video playback feature on the device. Yes, this has video playback! Video playback on a 1.45-inch display. Anyway, I dont know how many of you will really use this. If there is video support, there has to be a big memory to hold those videos. So this device comes in three versions, a 4GB, 8GB and 16GB. The price will be starting from $40 to $90. The device will hit the stores in June. Additional details of the device are as follows:

  • LCD: 1.45″ TFT (128×128, 262K colours)
  • Bluetooth: Bluetooth 2.1 Wireless Technology (supports A2DP & AVRCP)
  • Battery Life: Up to 20 hours (based on 128kpbs, 4mins/song, MP3 file)
  • Power Charging: Yes (via USB)
  • Memory Expansion: microSD, up to 32GB
