Symbian Belle Smartphone

Nokia has finally decided to roll out the new Symbian Belle OS to some of its new smartphones. The lucky ones getting the update are  Nokia N8, E7, X7, C6-01, C7, Oro, E6, and Nokia 500. It is also said that the Nokia 701, 700, and 603 will come pre-installed with the new Symbian Belle OS. For the other smartphone which have already entered the market will receive an over the air (OTA) update early next year.

This news comes from All Things Symbian, which also suggests that the Nokia N8 and the C7 phones will probably be manufactured with the Belle OS from now on. But the update to the ones already sold will take some time to come out as they have to be tested thoroughly so that they dont affect user data stored on the devices. Once this is done, million of Nokia smartphones across the world will be enjoying the brand new face of the Symbian Belle platform.

Symbian Belle is the latest iteration of the Symbian platform which Nokia is very keen to take forward, but I’m sure that the Finnish company is not yet ready to see the downfall of the platform so easily. But it is necessary to know that the Belle OS has a lot of new features, most of them have been unfortunately taken from Android, according to me at least. Nevertheless, Nokia and Symbian fan boys will be excited to see the new OS in action on their phones pretty soon.
